An effective Indoor Air Quality investigation involves FAR more than mold or any other specific testing (as we hope you've learned through our website) - and in many cases may not even need to involve any mold testing. Nevertheless, if you were to 'google' the term "iaq investigations" you would find mold testing resources generously represented.
This underscores the relative maturity of this industry - indoor air quality investigative methods have only recently become technologically sophisticated in regards to investigative approaches and analytical procedures. It is incumbent upon you the consumer to seek out services that are professional and current, in order to obtain an IAQ Investigation that gets the job right.
Yellow Pages
Some engineering or consulting companies that provide IAQ investigations advertise in the Yellow Pages tm (under Environmental & Ecological Services, for example). When considering such firms, find out what procedure they are using, and bear in mind that typically they are geared towards the industrial and commercial segments of building indoor air quality.
Government
Canada Mortgage & Housing Corp. (CMHC) maintains a list of IAQ investigators that have completed a training program based upon the CMHC Residential IAQ Investigation Procedure. This is by far your best choice in the Lower Mainland (and indeed in all of Canada) because not only is CMHC's protocol and training program the most current, it is also specifically geared to Residential application.
